FASTING REDUCING STARVING (FASTREST)
The Fasting Reducing Starving (FASTREST) is an initiative of young and less
young people from four continents and the Middle East of personal fasting and
sharing our food with those who are starving every day.
On one day every week, Wednesdays for example, those healthy adult people who
can always eat as much as they like are invited voluntarily not to eat anything or
just the absolute minimum to get some understanding of the everyday starvation of
every fifth person in the human family and to reduce that starvation. This fasting
exercise is open to people in developed and in developing countries.
The money we do not spend on food (and booze or smoking, if applicable) on those
days will be transferred to starving people who will be direct recipients of the cash.
This is not a donation of our money. This is sharing our food with those who don't
have it. We believe FASTREST will lead to more consequences than the value of the
food to be transferred between those who FAST (fasting and sharing) and those who
REST (reducing their starvation).
